Barbara Harrington, LUTCF, CITRM, has been serving clients in the insurance field since 1980.

Her firm, Harrington Senior Health Advisors, Inc specializes in helping Seniors plan their retirement needs including Medicare planning, Long Term Care (She is certified to offer the New York State Partnership for Long-Term Care).and funding retirement plans as well as funding roll over 401K’s.

She founded the Harrington Insurance School, a pre-licensing entity in 1990 and then the Harrington Education Center, a continuing education center based in Staatsburg, New York in 1995. Ms. Harrington has authored over 45 approved Continuing Education courses on various insurance industry topics and has taught long-term care and life insurance planning courses classes to insurance licensees since 1995. The Harrington Education Center has now been taken over by her grandson, Jayson Harrington.

In addition, she has written several articles for industry publications, including “Maximizing Retirement Benefits” (published in Life Underwriter magazine) and “IRA Legislation” (published by an industry accounting quarterly magazine).

A leader in her industry, Ms. Harrington has served as President of the Dutchess County Life Association, Charter President of the Women Life Underwriters Conference of Dutchess County, Chairwoman of Women Life Underwriters for New York State, Regional Vice President of the New York State Association of Life Underwriters, and New York State Education Chairperson.

She felt honored to have served on the Board of Directors of Dutchess community College in Poughkeepsie, NY.

She has been selected for inclusion in “Who’s Who of Women in America.”
